Twilit Dawn

Synrn. Phoenix Tower: Dark Moon, Jeshrun. Year After Shadow Two Thousand One Hundred.

There it is. Fortress Dark Courage is shining with the brilliant light long awaited. The phoenix under me flies toward it, now able to traverse the skies thanks to the light’s presence. The light grows until it reaches its peak; then it seems to waver. In the moment of its triumph, the light blinks out, sending a wave that rolls through shadow and is gone.

With the light’s passing, this twilit dawn is dark indeed. Silence falls as the clangs of weapons and shouts of battle cease. With its objective completed the clouds and hordes of shadow move on. As the lands of Dark Moon become clear, the ancient verse comes to mind.

Dying flames, withered cold,

Coughing smoke, aging wood,

Barren fields, empty fold,

Who will yet stand where no one would?

None yet stand where only one could.

Readers, hopefully you enjoyed the first part of the Jeshrun Chronicles! To ensure continued excellence as we move into the second part, there will be no new stories posted until July 15, 2016. See you then!

Its intense! Its so relatable! The ending didn’t feel like an ending, more like a pause. Im super excited to see what happens next! Parkr is my favorite Lord. Cyran is second.
