Here is a list of all the people, places, and terms used in the world of Jeshrun, as well as a map of Jeshrun so you can follow all the character’s travels. If you are still confused, try reading the Chronicles of Lords.

 

Jeshrun Map

Apprentice

Title given to a wielder who has reached the second tier of magic.

Blue Soul

One of four clans in Jeshrun. Lives on ships in Jeshrun’s ocean.

Command

  To order an element to accomplish the person’s will with either a verbal or mental command. See wield.

Control

  1)Noun. A measure of the accuracy of a wielder

            2)Verb. To wield an element with precision.

Cyess (Sie ess)

  One of twelve magical creatures. Travels through space. Very hard to see clearly.

Cyran (Sir ӑn)

Wolf Lord. Healer. Childhood friend of Vytria.

Dark Moon

One of four clans in Jeshrun. Trades with clan Blue Soul.

Dragon

One of twelve magical creatures.

Ecalai (Ek ӑll i)

Cyess Lord. From Nagaster. Travels with sister Erianna and friend Mykai.

Eihn (A hn)

One of twelve magical creatures. Large tiger.

Faln (Fӑ lon)

One of twelve magical creatures. Lives in magma chambers deep underground.

Element

Any natural substance used by a user of magic. Examples are fire, water, metal, stone, and wood. Also refers to the natural substance a wielder finds easiest to use.

Elemental

Title given to a wielder who has reached the first tier of magic.

Erelynn (Air el lin)

Serid Lord. Crown Princess of Kiroh.

Erianna (air ee ӑn ӑ)

Fox Lord. From Nagaster. Travels with brother Ecalai and friend Mykai.

Form

The state of an element. The four forms are solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.

Fox

Also called water fox. One of twelve magical creatures. Found near bodies of water.

Gathyra (Gӑth i ru)

Nation formed by King Cenryr After Shadow. Home to many dragons and dragon riders.

Gryphon

One of twelve magical creatures.

Heartbeat

A measure of time equivalent to one second.

High Master

The legendary sixth tier of magic. A title given to a paladin to show highest respect.

James

One of the three princes of Gathyra. Brother of Mykl and Parkr.

Jeshrun (Jesh u run)

Also spelled Jeshurun. An ancient land called the heart of magic.

Jeske (je ske)

Eihn Lord. From clan Toledoth, but studied magic in Gathyra.

Kaze (Kӑ ze)

From clan NaruNova. Wind Wielder. Attained title Master Wizard.

Kiroh (Ki roh)

Monarchy opposed to Nilonia. Ruled by Queen Rannette and Crown Princess Erelynn. Home to many serids.

Kryus (Kri us)

Faln Lord. Sleeping in Jeshrun Below. One of the original ancient Lords.

Kyle

Leviathn Lord and water wielder. Also called Wielder of the Deep. Attended Gathyra’s school with Synrn, Jeske, and the three princes.

Leviathn (lev i a thin)

One of twelve magical creatures. King of the deep sea.

Lord

A title given by the Ancient of Days to twelve chosen champions.

Mage

Title given to a wielder who has reached the fourth tier of magic.

Magic

Energy of life.

Magical Creatures

Beasts with intelligence and a duty to watch over men. There are twelve magical creatures: Cyess, Dragon, Eihn, Faln, Water Fox, Gryphn, Leviathn, Pegasus, Phoenix, Rnbar, Serid, Wolf.

Moment

A measure of time equivalent to one minute.

Mykai (Mik i)

Rnbar Lord. From Nagaster. Travels with friends Ecalai and Erianna.

Mykl (Mi kl)

One of the three princes of Gathyra. Brother of James and Parkr.

Nagaster (nag ast er)

World protected by Kiroh. Home to Ecalai, Erianna, and Mykai. Passed over by Nilonia as too untamed to warrant conquest.

NaruNova

One of four clans in Jeshrun. Lives in the RedStone.

Nightbringer

Kings of shadow. Virtually impossible to defeat, even for a Lord. Also called Nephilim.

Nilonia (Ni lone i a)

Empire covering many worlds. Ruled by self-styled Emperor Nilo and his Nirad.

Nirad (Nir ad)

Assassins/governors of the Nilonian empire.

Nephilim (ne fi lim)

See Nightbringer.

Paladin

Title given to a wielder who has reached the fifth tier of magic.

Parkr (Pӑr ker)

Dragon Lord. One of the three princes of Gathyra. Brother of Mykl and James.

Pegasus

One of twelve magical creatures. Very elusive.

Phoenix

One of twelve magical creatures.

RedStone

Home of clan NaruNova. Land in Jeshrun noted for volcanic activity. Many geysers, hot springs, and wildlife are found here.

Rider

Name for a person who has bonded with a magical creature.

Rnbar (Ran bar)

One of twelve magical creatures. Large forest guardian with razor-sharp claws.

Seah

Southeast. One of the three points of a Gathyran compass. See twen, thien.

Serid (Sair id)

One of twelve magical creatures. Manipulates light. Lizard-like creature that varies greatly in size. Most are found in Kiroh.

Shadow

  1)Term for black, ever thickening, ever expanding fog where evil creatures live and lurk.

            2)Plural used as general term for evil creatures

Source

Where a wielder’s magic comes from. May come from themselves, nature, or another person.

Spell

  Written magic. A spell is written into an element and will last as long as that element remains unbroken.

Sranus (Sir ӑn us)

Pegasus Lord. Very old. Uses a staff.

Synrn (Sin rin)

Phoenix Lord. Studied magic in Gathyra. Friend of Kyle.

Thien

North. One of the three points of a Gathyran compass. See seah, twen.

Tier

The rankings of wielders. There are five official tiers of magic.

Toledoth (Tol e doth)

One of four clans in Jeshrun. Lives in forested mountain area. Guardians of ancient ruins.

Twen

Southwest. One of the three points of a Gathyran compass. See seah, thien.

Vytria (Vi tri a)

Gryphon Lord. Wind Wielder. Childhood friend of Cyran.

Wield

Verb. Noun: Wielder. To use magic to force an element to accomplish the person’s will. See command.

Wizard

Title given to a wielder who has reached the third tier of magic. There are three sub-rankings in the third tier: silver, gold, and master. Most wielders are in the third tier.

Wolf

One of twelve magical creatures.

World

Term used to describe a planet and/or a nation.
